Ya might know they decide to have a non traditional type venue for a US open when Phil is running out if time to win one.

I think Phil's time has passed. There are many young guys who have so much talent. It's sad because this is the one tournament Phil has always wanted to win since he was a kid.

still think 8 or 9 under will lead after today and double digits win this

they had several (Pinehurst, Shinnecock) and he couldn't get it done there either. Granted, Stewart and Goosen forgot they were allowed to miss putts

He was really trending great heading into this week. This is really making me sick.

putts at 16-17-18 and #1 slide by the hole.

Kills me that DJ is playing so good after his 6 month leave that was so hush hush. Then u got Phil the golf gods cant give him a US open. No justice in pro sports.

he should have won by 4 last week, except he was missing many 3 footers. Alarm bells were ringing

26 putts through 13 holes

Just checking in and very disappointed to see Phil is 3 over...back nine yesterday and today were problematic for Phil....his putting is a big problem....just missed a very simple 10 footer for birdie...cut is plus 3 so Phil needs to keep making pars and hope for a birdie (at this point would likely have to be a tap in as he is not making anything) to fall. If he could have shot another 69 or even 70 he would be in pretty good shape but now if he makes the cut he will have to go low on one of the weekend rounds and get some help-too many players that are playing well right now ahead of him.

If Phil can get back to even par at days end there us still hope

Phil is just out thinking himself and is getting penalized by the course...hits an iron at the 512 yard par 4 6th and hit it in left rough and had 240 to pin....just wedged it out and has long 3rd shot...he has no energy or momentum...not taking any of the energy the crowd is trying to give him...if he could get even to level par which if he made one putt and birdied the part 5 8th he would be there that would be a victory at this point. No telling what the weekend will bring at what DJ et. all will do...Phil needs to stay focused, make the cut and hopefully get as close to even finishing the day heading into weekend. He has to be careful about cut...he just does not seem to be engaged.

time to go out to dinner with my lovely wife. Much better than watching this shit from Phil

Phil looks way off with his energy and demeanor....just took no time and hit his approach listlessly to 20 feet for par...have no idea why he hit iron off tee especially when you can't control how ball reacts to fairway roll.

He gotta make the cut. This is so hard to take. The first 9 holes were so promising . Was really expecting Phil t o be near lead

not sure if Phil thinks he is not going to make cut or is just too far back to compete on weekend but he seems to have no urgency or concern right now...just does not make sense as at the US Open one low round moves you way up the board and into possible contention. Phil is 4 over today which is awful but at 3 over and a par 5 left he could get himself at least within shouting distance...just don't think he feels comfortable here because he has not played here before.

Very bad 8 iron for Phil from 140...went way past hole and now has long lag putt for par....has to wait in fairway for long time and he was yawning out there...he has been yards behind Angel and Bubba the last several holes.

Good god is Phil playing awful...have not seen one good shot since started watching...going to turn off the coverage...he is now likely going to go back to back bogies and be squarely on cut line...crazy thing is he does not seem to care...left putt 20 feet short.

He has been out here too long not to realize at a us open if uou make the cut you are still in it.

This courses is ridiculous. I know everyone plays it . Tired of hearing that.

Phil 4 over for tournament and 5 over for day and looks like he wants to miss cut.
