US open 2020 1st round
and PHIL will be out later today. I will figure later how to watch him. I actually had a small mole removed this week so golf is out for me so I can watch him!! My heart says "yes yes" he can do it but my mind says "not so sure". On the plus side IMO he has not obsessed over course prep--oh he knows enough about this course. Find the fairways and greens-be below the hole!!! US Open golf is easy and these greens are very predictable==very hard but very predictable. So I guess we will see later today!
Re: US open 2020 1st round
Then a wild drive with three wood on #2! I am not sure he can get to green
Re: US open 2020 1st round
unbelievable second shot at #2 from the rough--curved around the tree and ran it up to the hole!! 15 feet for another bird!!!
Re: US open 2020 1st round
bunker on #4? and had to layup--found fairway and now needs a miracle chip for par
Re: US open 2020 1st round
Crap, he squandered his birdies as fast as he got them. Not good.

What a mess that drive was....slicing left...Phil, you're trying to hard to hit it hard. Heading to +2 in no time.

Can't even hit a hybrid... wide left again. Phil, take if from another left hander...when you try to hit it too hard, you're either leading with your heel of the club, trailing the toe open (i.e., face is open), slice/fade to the left).

How the heck did he end up on the tee box instead of on that green? but too far past the hole, looks like bogie coming on. At this rate, he'll be no less then +6 or higher by the end of the round.

Re: US open 2020 1st round
course is not playing like a US Open at all today.
Rough seems thinner than the usual June rough, which is typical for September. Needed the rough to be closer to 10 inches to be normal US Open rough.
This is basically a second PGA Championship

They were mowing the rough on Wednesday-its nasty but between the rough and puttable greens its not nasty out there today.

my goodness
His putting looks like mine today. Cannot put the ball in the ocean from the end of a pier with his putter
