Sunday looks bad--a small field means play will certainly get in--until perhaps lightening comes in on Saturday

I do note that in 2006 PHIL won when they had to play a ton of holes on Sunday!! Who knows but lets go PHIL

I can't believe Rahm is in the lead. Thought he was going to blow a gasket earlier when he went in a bunker off the tee with driver. Both Spaniards have let their hot Spanish blood boil over in recent months and likely getting in their way of performance.

Dechambeaux is about to hit off the pine straw like Phil did some years back....but he just laid up …. he ain't no Phil

Need to do as well as possible now and tomorrow for who knows how it will play with the weather over the weekend.

PHIL has played a lot better then me today!! Four sweet birds and two ouch bogies. So close on a few other holes like 14--Solid round so far

Phil's been driving it good except for 10 and 11. Those bogeys were great saves

that bogey save on 11 turned everything around for him. Reminds me of his bogey save on 11 in the second round of 2006

I thought that was going to be a hole-in-one.  Just needed another rotation or two.  Great shot...

with only 87 players, there is no reason they are not paying in 2s these first 2 days and repairing after day 1. Phil should in the second to last group, in front of Koepka and Bryson

Dortt in the days at the Masters they did not perfectly regroup for Saturday/Sunday. Until the mid sixties when the US open started to regroup and play 18/18 on weekends instead of 36 holes on Saturday. Hogan and other USGA favorites used to favorable times while Snead and others were out later. At the US open the early times were more prized on the weekends--less play on the greens.

They could do it this week as well--regroup now!!

Great round even with the bogies. Last 6 holes was stellar Phil. I’m getting some of those SpeedSticks i saw him using on the range yesterday. If a little dumbbell work has improved my golf so much already the last few months (strengthening my arms and shoulders), and my treadmill running improving my stamina, a little speed swing work should top it off.

PHIL had poor shots at #10 & #11 that his putter saved him bogies. Maybe its fate!!

#12 -#16--#18 were hot shots--if anything he was a bit unlucky on the par fives todays--less bounces --putts moving a bit more--he was in great position on 2-8-15 while just a bit off on #13

oh my he needs more good play--looks like a bit better weather on Friday morning then afternoon--frankly this afternoon was nicer scoring wise --so maybe PHIL gets a break
