PHIL faltered at #18--he hit a poor second shot and missed his 4 footer for Par
Re: Open Championship, Round Two
Terrible finish. Should have been no worse than -4. Had a couple short misses today. He was really making those par saves until the back 9.

You are kidding me-he bogies 18 from 44 yards out off tee? Man he really threw away a ton of shots today....3 putts missed from inside 4 feet and left a shot in the bunker. Should have been no worse than 5 under and could have been 7 under easily

PHIL hit some fantastic shots today. I saw nearly every shot from PHIL today and he played some amazing golf. Some of the best golf he has played for years.
That shot at #11 was one foot from perfect and cost him 2 or 3 shots. Ugh
PHIL's putter failed him on short putts. Oh mine. At least 4 shots there and maybe more.
My hope is that this is like 2013 where PHIL's finish of the second and third round cost him at least 6 shots. So I still believe!!!!

Well, I hope Dustin J. wins. He showed great form at the US Open, just that missed putt at the end. Also showing more great form the The Open Champ. Maybe Phil needs to sharpen his game more or something.

DJ driving it in fairways and chips to the green will work wonders.

I rooting for DJ but I still have hopes for another PHIL miracle.
If I could buy him 4 putts
If I could buy him 4 putts

At this point of his career, I think what you're seeing is what he is - a golfer who shows flashes of greatness but struggles to put together a complete tournament. We can always hope for a glimmer of something more like at Augusta in April or last year's PGA Championship, but the reality is the window is closing.

Re: Open Championship, Round Two
I heard an announcer this week say Nick Faldo won 5 of his 6 majors because someone collapsed. That has never happened to Phil. He always has to go and get it. I know thats golf but geezz you'd think in 23 years it would have happened just once. And to add salt on the wounds Jordan had to make history and win the Masters and last years PGA played out over the darkness controversy and Rory playing through. I just fear Phil winning the claret jug was his swan song. Im still hop eful but its tough to accept it may be true.

Phil has never done well on this course. The announcers tonight said that its really tough for left handers with the winds and the course set up with OB etc. They have to start the ball way out over trouble and hope that the wind brings it back. Sounds reasonable to me. They also said he needs more consistency in his rounds as has been stated here previously.

Watching Dustin J. hit the ball is just enjoyable....he hits it so effortlessly and it goes a mile. I hope he can keep this one.

I was disgusted that DJ had to hit balls and got that bogey this morning while the players on 11 never hit a shot and had play suspended. That was not fair. Reminiscent of the pga last year where Phil had to let Rory hit into losing light. Play should be suspended for all, not just some or all should play. Hope that bogey isn't the difference for him again this tournament. Butch has done wonders for him.
