Open Championship Round 3

Post by j58golf on Sat Jul 16, 2016 6:55 am

Steady breeze with gusts so far. Spieth got off to a fast 4 birdie start through 7 holes then went bogey bogey double.  Phil has to keep it steady. They said they didn't roll or cut the greens. Wind is suppose to get worse.  Oh boy........Stricker said he has stayed with Phil last week and part of this week and he's in a good spot mentally.  Keep it going Phil!!!!!

Of course Stenson makes and Phil misses. Hope this isn't one of those days where everything drops for all the chasers.

Phil hits the flag and then just misses the putt. Hopefully he can get a few of these to fall early.. I'd feel a tad better with a cushion, since I don't believe anyone has ever "handed" Phil a Major. He went out and earned them.

So much for the bunkers being penalities. Stenson tap in birdie. Phil makes his Smile

Didn't Phil use an iron on the par 5 4th before. Hope he doesn't change his routine today to keep of with Stenson.

I am officially the jinx. I didn't watch anything Thursday/Friday and now he is about to lose the lead. If Stenson holes this putt, I am done

Thankfully Stenson missed. Phil is in 2nd and 5 clear of 3rd. Wouldn't mind if they made this a 2man race going into tomorrow.

I was half paying attention.. Did Phil just hit a shank/popup/semi whiff? I wasn't facing the TV but they made it sound bad.

I saw that too. I thought it was to fit the hat better with the wind, but these guys have hats tailored to specifics.

Stenson flubs a chip and looks to make bogey. Of course Phil runs his putt 5-6 ft past.. come on Phil. hang on and let these guys fall
