PHIL 1st and 2nd rounds at Colonial

and yes its early but PHIL is teeing off this morning!!!

A par on #10 (1st hole) as he just misses a birdie from 18 feet! let's go PHIL

PHIL made the commitment and he is putting the time in! +2 after 9

Ugh, horrible. Speith is -4, Phil is +2 through 11.

+3 is okAY

Coming down to the last hole if he makes the cut.... right on the cut line at +1 and 18th hole to go....par or better makes the cut!!

He perfect, berger went one way, speith the other and Phil split the difference in the middle, 139 to the pin.

Uncharacteristic of Phil....pin is in middle front of green flanked by left/right bunkers. If he went over the pin to open green, easy 2 put... ball pushed to the left edge of bunker (or in the bunker?)...going to need an up-and-down to make cut.

Oh crap, his chip was way off, has to make a 10-foot putt to make the cut. Don't know what Speith was doing...he had something like 107 yards, easy peasy, and he flies the back of the green?, then goes 16 ft past the pin on way back....and Berger makes a 27 foot birdie.

....and Phil.... misses the putt, goes to +2 and misses the cut.

This seemed like he wants to get in some serious US Open prep. He put on a good show for the fans, honored his commitment to the tourney, but can now get prepared for the US Open

Almost like he wanted to or on purpose?....

The putt on 17 was really strange. Don't think he was throwing the tourney, but he didn't exactly spend as much energy as he did at Kiawah
