Colonial 2nd round 2017

PHIL was solid on Thursday. He had a few errant tee shots and that lead to three bogies--overall he had a great round. Made a ton of putts. Let's go PHIL

What a,waste of a 359 yrd.drive. pars the par 5 1st. Gezzzzzz

So so second shot at #1-missed a putt and now a bogie at #2

Needs to steady himself.

So far almost wish I didn't see these first 2 holes online. Bogey on short par 4. I'm sure Phil was thinking at least 1 under through 2. Now the horrible horseshoe holes.

He can't improve his putting good enough to overcome the shortcomings of his driver.....he has never improved that and as courses get tighter, longer, deeper rough....it becomes more of a problem as he gets older than it was when he was younger. He will look good for 1, 2, maybe even 3 rounds, but you need 4 good rounds to win most days.

Another bogie....overcooked the green (seen a few people bouncing off the hard dry greens....ugh.

His putter stinks so far. He can't get up and down at all today

I honestly thought after the 3 birdie finish yesterday Phil would come out firing on all cylinders. His approaches and putting are horrible

Unless he catches fire on back nine he is going to be middle of the pack.

Come on Phil, the lead is literally where it was yesterday....a great opportunity to catch up, gee whiz man.

Ugh, gave it all back. Even. Can't seem to make any birdies.

This is getting ridiculous. I think the heat is getting to Phil.

perhaps retirement should be considered. He is unable to put 4 good rounds together any longer. Not making a putt longer than 4 feet today is terrible. Shows a total lack of focus

Not sure I'm liking this 4 in a row. He could be running on empty by USOpen time.

I can't believe he didn't even make 1 birdie in the 2nd round, wow.

It's $$$$, he makes what, $45-48 million/year, but you know he only make about $1-2 mill in winnings, so it's all for the sponsors who provide the bulk if his revenue, you can not appear to give up or you will lose sponsorships.  It's all about the sponsors who provide the bulk of his revenue is the reason these guys try to keep pushing, and give these eye-rolling comments about how 'I'm just this close to winning', lol. That's the only logical reason I can see.

He hasn't missed any cuts this year. I know he doesn't want a captains pick for the presidents cup. I think he's gotta be really frustrated because at times his game looks awesome. He's in good shape so I gotta believe it's mental. It will be 4 years since he won. He's had six 2nd place finishes in that time frame UNFORTUNATELY three of those 2nd places finishes were in majors that would have been great had he won at least one He is so much better than a 5 major career.. I'm sure he's hard on himself.

Hall of Fame has him with 6 majors as they count his 2007 TPC

But still, he should be better than 6. The odds of him losing all 3 the last 3 years with the scores he shot are about the same as winning powerball
