Just saw Phil on 18.... never saw so much tape on one’s fingers... tape on thumb, tape on upper and lower inex finger, tape on another finger. I used to always use Winn grip Dri Tac, cushy grips, but since i got my new irons with Golf Pride grips, i’ve had to tape 2 fingers because i’d get blisters

PHIL missed three eagle putts on #6 this week plus one on #14 & #18

Congrats to Gary Woodland, a fine man to win the US Open.  Outside of Phil and Rickie, he would be my 3rd choice going in, but as the tournament progressed, he was my clear choice among the leaders.  And the back story with Amy (Down's syndrome gal that he played the par3 hole in Scottsdale) and he and his wife's prior pregnancy complications and loss of the preemie twin girl (the boy survived), and now she's pregnant with twin girls was even more compelling to root for him if you didn't even know golf. Watching him play flawlessly.... what?, 4 bogies the entire week, wow, and making putts from everywhere.... he had some angel on his shoulder to get him out of the trouble he found himself in.

yup putting won it for Woodland--you can make fairways or miss them but putts make the man!!!
