Phil is online featured group and missed 2 makeable birdies about 8 ft and 4 ft. In first 4 holes plus par on par 5. Very frustrating.

Back to back birds and to -3/day and -6/tourney (psst...2 clear of Rory :-)... my bad, 3-clear of Rory (he bogied, now +1 on day).....how's that for "being on the back nine of his career"? (wasn't it Rory that said that?)

Yep Rory said that. Just added to my dislike of him. I'm still not over the playing through at the PGA in the dark.
Hope Phils focus stays sharp he is playing well. Lots of guys right there .

The analysts on Sirius PGA Tour said the weather is so nice out there this week/weekend, it is like playing indoors....so scoring likely to be phenomenal.

PHIL plays front 9 in 4 under. Hate to complain but he missed another bird on 9th. Looked about 8ft. He could have been leading by 3 . His approaches are good.

well since I started golfing in June 2016--major major deal for me--I am bit more sympathic about these putting misses!! Let's just say that my putting is a challenge

Putting is my salvation...if that ever desserts me, I'm lost. I enjoy curvy/hilly greens where reading the line/break is so important, it's fun. Flat greens are so boring. Wife and I just rejoined the c.c. that we used to be members of for 15 years, then took 5 years off.... tri-level greens with high levels as much as 2-3 feet above/below the other levels, and false fronts, makes for fun putting. I forgot how much I missed those.

Here's my PHIL thing!! scoring on par threes. When PHIL has the putter working and is dialed in on his irons. He makes birdies on par threes--He has 4 of them so far in two days!!

Golf Channel just showed highlights. He's putting like a weekend hack. Missed several putts inside of 6 feet. Should be 8-10 under on his round today
