Sorry Phil fans I am too emotionally invested in his game. I get so frustrated when this happens

three bogies in a row doomed PHIL's chances

PHIL has hit so many greens this week but he has missed about 20 putts from within 15 feet this week

Honestly the greens here are far ans curvy so everyone has missed putts.

He will not win this week but it is a solid start towards Oakmont

Now a weather delay and poor Phil is sitting in the fairway on 18th. A few more minutes he could've been done for the week.

Bogey from fairway. Reed JB Kutcher will all get more Ryder Cup points this week. They all are near Phil . Sad back 9.

Phil is playing well until it really counts. STATS ARE GOOD but if he played well and got beat you can live with it. But I don't know how today can build confidence. He was 2 shots off lead after 8 holes and then backed up big time.

I'm sure after missing 2 legit birdie tries on 8th and 9th he was probably forcing it . But he should know better. Top 10 is important if he doesn't want to be a captains pick.

Phil is at #7, Reed at # 8, separated by about 180+ pts.... Reed just got a top 10 and right now looks like Phil gets a top 20, not sure if Reed will get enough to bump Phil into 8th place.  And Matt Kuchar is currently at 10th place in Ryder Cup standings....does he get enough to leap frog and he and Reed end up with 7th and 8th, bumping Phil outside the automatic-8?

But Phil was -13 after the turn, just need to go 2-under on the back to make the playoff.  Gee whiz.  I am not as excited for his chances at the US Open, he still can't putt and makes too many mistakes...call it lack of focus or whatever, he just makes too many mistakes to stay in contention anymore.  Others have shown better stuff even with less birdies/ball striking....McGirt with no bogies today?....very nice.

It's too bad he didn't win at Pebble this year. Gotta be in his head that he's had a 3 yr. Drought.

Should have won at Pebble. Couldn't get it going there until he ran out of holes.

Phil moved up to 6th in Ryder Cup points and Reed moved up to 7th. Zach dropped to 8th.

After Spieth and DJ it is quite a bit bunched up . A win this week should lock it up for Phil. I think he finished 4th last year in Memphis.

The one question that is blank it talking about medical treatment. May have been when Phils face was looking really irritated. Who knows.

Sounds like he was out of commission for a couple of months with it.
