Ughh, Phil is using a 47.5-in driver.  Too long Phil, you'll be dispersing it left and right.  Even Dechambeaux dialed back to 46-in because even though he was crazy long at 48-in, he couldn't control it.

Wow what a comeback and yes as noted he made some putts!! I myself did some great lag putting today in shooting a 37 on the front nine! Its tough will you lag from 6 feet and miss a birdie. I need some of those Dave Stockton lessons! -2 for PHIL!!

That's a wide open course... I play it on World Golf Tour. Amazing how some of the holes, I knew where the trouble spots are from playing the PC game of that course, pretty accurate.

Phil is tied for the lead in a major at 50!! If this doesn't hold his focus nothing will!!

I consider it a good day when Phil's driving accuracy is >65%.

He may be tested if his driving comes back to 'normal'.

Woah!!... birdie at the finish. I thought Phil was close, but then I saw it was like 22 feet and I was about to say, well I saw so many people holing out long putts, those greens must be really rolling nice.

Stunning round by PHIL--the worst of the wind on 14-18 flared up after his finished there. Mind you he made bogies there but still.

Scoreboard operator jinxes Ian Poulter's once flawless round at PGA

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – As the gusts built across the Ocean Course on Friday, Ian Poulter knew he was on borrowed time.

The Englishman was flawless for 12 holes and had vaulted into a tie for second place thanks to an eagle-3 at the seventh hole and birdies at Nos. 4, 9, 10 and 11.

It was easily the round of the day at the PGA Championship and prompted one scoreboard attendant to get caught up in the moment.

“I got on the 13th tee and there was a scoreboard in the distance, and it was ironic, it says, Ian Poulter, 6 under through 12 and chasing down a course record,” he laughed. “I just started laughing to myself, like who in the world would write that and put that on a board with that last five holes to play?”

On cue, Poulter bogeyed Nos. 13, 14, 16 and 17 for a 2-under 70 that was, despite his poor finish, tied for the best round of the morning wave with even more demanding conditions on tap for the afternoon wave.

Someone please tell that Scoreboard operator not to say anything about Phil, should he be in the lead, i.e., "..... being oldest, etc., to win a PGA Championship", etc. if he should be leading on final day!!
