it's playing like the AT&T Pebble Beach. USGA for reasons unexplained, listened to the players and went with a soft, tour setup

Regardless of how this is set up Phil looks very average so far. He could be looking at a 10 under lead before he tee it up tomorrow if he doesnt get under par. -3 be nice.

Too much chewing going on, i don’t like what i’m seeing. Missed a short putt earlier for birdie.

This is really bad. He was upset from the missed opportunities and totally lost focus on a gimmee.

Phil is becoming a John Daly clown show at this point. Great at hot takes, but on course play is struggling

missed a 5 footer now. He is simply not making his birdie putts. Making the par ones though, except for that 1 footer

Glad he didn't give an interview and stuck foot in mouth. Saw his brother give a online video clip review of several holes that they taped to be aired during play, was pretty good.

Well both PHIL and I struggled on the greens today!!!

Okay I watched PHIL's round at US Open--wow man you could have nailed it today

1st hole was a poor pitch-4th hole poor pitch
#3 short miss!!! #7 missed the putt #8--poor second shot

#10 poor second shot. #12 missed the putt!! #13 poor tee shot but missed birdie putt!
#6---could have been an eagle!!! #14 missed an eagle!!!

Missed putts at 15-16-17

plus a so so second shot at #18 followed by another so so third shot and a missed birdie putt

PHIL had great play today but he failed to score on 7 or 8 holes plus two missed eagle putts

Mercy +1 today was worse then the worse score he could have shot toDAY

Phil needs to shoot at least 2 under tomorrow.

Just not getting it done when he has to. With benign conditions as well, what more can you ask.  It plays into Koepka's comments that "the complainers just don't have the game" (or something like that).  Phil's got nothing to complain about regarding the course, except regarding his own play.
