US Open 3rd Round 2019

Well, Phil had a cha-cha round... one step forward, one step back, do a little side step, and repeat.

Gary Woodland, wow, what a wonder round and his composure was just a dead-pan attitude.


In case you didn't see it, here's Patrick Reed snapping his wedge over his knee.  It starts with him laying 3 off back side of 18th par-5 green (he's 'Even' at the time and cut is +2), now chipping 4th shot back towards the pin (looked like he was ready to snap the wedge after that shot).

Yup yup PHIL was so close both on Thursday and Friday---He hit a ton of great shots but just was a bit off on 7 or 8 holes. Oh my if a PHIL more eagle or birdie or par putts had follow!!!

Get ready for a 64 or an 84 today. Phil is going to go for everything there really is no need to play it safe. This is really his last legitimate shot at the slam. He doesnt care about any place but FIRST!!

Just off on #4-- second shot should have been closer and missed his birdie

Just missed his birdie putt at #5---4 tap in pars so far with a par save at #4

nice bird at #6--should be 3 under so far

so many putts-7-8-9-10 that are so so close to falling in. Very very solid golf--nothing is falling.

missed a fairway at 11 and bogie then a super super shot at 12

still minus 1---4 birdies in would be nice

missed a 4 footer on 14.

Not making anything today with the putter

glad I ran my mouth, Phil just made a 20 footer for par on 15

three putt bogie on #14 after a poor drive--amazing par save at 15--PHIL fading a bit at the end

Good news, Phil is eligible to play in the seniors US Open next year.

bogey on 17, looks like a 2 stroke penalty for taking a swim on 18

of course, PBP has been TERRIBLE. It now has Phil hitting the fairway with an iron. It's worse than when he PGA Tour first introduced PBP

It initially had him duffing his second shot on 14

total meltdown on 18

Hate to say it, but I think it's time for Phil to retire. He's become a joke of a sideshow. He NEVER would have been the Daly caricature that he has become during the past 2 years. May contend is an unimportant tour event, but not in a serious tournament.

Perhaps he belongs on the Senior Tour next year, where he can clown around

Fox showed him making his triple bogey, while PBP has him making a 10

No more talk of 50 wins, ‘bombing it now’, or career slam.... just do it without prior comment

Feel really bad for Phil. Winged Foot will haunt him until the day he dies.

Phil is ranked 24th in the world. To say he should go to the senior tour is way premature. He won 2 times in the last 15 months.

Ray Floyd went to the Senior Tour the same year he finished second at Augusta (and he only finished second due to Fred Couples getting that miracle on 12). He knew his days of winning on the regular tour were over

I assume they didn't have world rankings back then . I dont know how Floyd's game was .Phil is 24th and won twice. Recently. Sorry to be repeating myself . I know we all had our Hope's up for a win or contention this week but to say he should go to the Senior tour is a bit extreme at this point.

Floud's game was MUCH better than Phil's at this point.

In 1992, Floyd won Doral, should have won at Augusta, and contended at Pebble Beach. He still understood that the best place for him to get wins was on the Senior Tour
