Houston Open 2018 Round One

and PHIL will be late early this week. Another random draw with Justin Rose!!! Plus Russell Henley-who I only know a little about but seems like a good golfer/nice guy. Well PHIL will get used to rain/wind/clouds this week as the weather forecast for Augusta next week will likely mirror Houston's.

Phil starts at 4:00pm? What the heck... they ain't ever going to finish starting at 4pm? I might, but not the (slow) way those guys play.

PHIL could tee off at 3 CDT but I suspect he will be later then that. 7:30 Sunset so maybe maybe he gets done but more likely he faces 22 holes tommorrow morning.

Ah, forgot... 4pm EST, lol.

To make the next wave's 2:10 tee time they will stacked and packed!!

Three fairways in a row--Augusta golf for PHIL

okay they are calling his 1st tee shot in the rough but barely--4 good drives and two birdies on 1st three holes.

I'm not going to say it (don't want to jinx), but he's looking good :-)

3 birdies on the first 4 holes.

oh my gosh, he chipped it in from 3 feet off the green (I was saying in my mind, putt it, putt it!!)... -4 in 5 holes.

If Phil can continue to keep his form we could see a really great year. Been showing a consistency of good play. Something we aren't used to.

Holy cow, Phil is rolling it in from all over, now -5.

You know, so many of these holes look the same, like 18th at TPC Sawgrass, just a 90-degree left to right tee to fairway with water on the left.

The course is not a top 50 type course. I think you can see water on most of the holes but not alot of them require over the water carry

I am recording it so I hope to see most of the round later

Pgatour live is finishing Phils round. For 39.99 a year you really get your money's worth. Phil is featured a lot.

Looks like he's cooled off, but he is really playing well and with confidence!

What happened on that hole, Joan?

14 hole par 3 in short sided bunker. Left ball in bunker and it rolled into his deep footprint. Chipped out to fringe. Then tried to chip in for bogey and missed. Thus a double. Ouch

15th hole par 5 yelling noooo he may be in hazzard

Glad this is the first round, but they planned it poorly when so many have not finished due to darkness. At least he can finish and tee off shortly after. Good tune up for next week! Did he go to Augusta?

I left after hole #8 and PHIL's putter froze up!!!
