Genesis Open 4th Round 2018

Phil is T-13th; with a good showing he could squeeze his way up into another Top-5 or possibly win it.  But that would require some help with the too many people above him.  But I'd take a Top-5 right now.

Man!!! PHIL just missed six birdie putts on Saturday!!!

Big miss on his tee shot on par 3 leads to missed 6fter for par. I guess we are going to be out of contention early today.

This par 3 4th is tough. Few bogeys already. Maybe I was too hard on Phil. Still gotta make those 6 fters .

Gets a glimpse of glory and chokes big time.  Unfortunately that is why his winning days are over.  He is playing much better than past years, just not enough to win though...

5 shots is a lot to overcome on Sunday. Fridays even par round put him behind 8 ball. Plus he got no lucky breaks you need to win.

Should be another Top 10, which would give him 4/7 tourneys to start the year. Of course, if one of the guys ahead of him drops, it might give him a Top 5 finish and that would be 4/7 Top 5 finishes to start the year. Playing much better, hopefully he can do it the rest of the year...

I think he's pushing hard to make something happen rather than choking, but that's my opinion. Maybe it is nerves, but he comes back with birdies, so I think he's forcing the issue.

He really is. They were saying on TGC that it would surprise no one for him to add another major or 2 to his resume'. He wants a win so badly. He's close, and should move up in the rankings again. Disappointing that he doesn't win, but really makes golf so much more exciting for me to watch when he's in the hunt and having fun. I haven't seen Amy around there lately, have you?

Just a guess but if Phil was in final pairing and maybe 1 or 2 shots off I wouldn't be surprised if she was there. She might have been and we just didn't see her.
Phil can handle 5 in a row. No major collapses on SUNDAY. His workout routine must have really helped his stamina.
