Genesis Open 1st Round 2018
and yes PHIL is playing this week!!! In an act of great courage PHIL's group will be right behind Tiger's group. Can you say crowd control? PHIL will be out with Kuchar and Fleetwood--Let's go PHIL!!!
Riviera IMO is one of the top five or so courses in the USA and maybe for the world for tournament golf. Its not just the history but the variety of holes. Of course like at St Andrews the 1st hole has a football wide landing zone is a chomp chomp par five. Then the 2nd hole is a monster par four with a narrow hard to hold green. Then the 4th hole defines the concept of a long par three shot. The sixth is a short par three but its the bunker in the middle hole!! The 7th hole is the hardest hole to drive while #8 has the split fairway---#9 has the world's most complicated green complex.
Then #10 is world's best drive able par four. Then comes a series of long and short holes on that back nine that challenge every aspect of a golfer's game. What a course and yes PHIL will be mentally and physically challenged today

Ugh--poor tee shot at #10---missed his birdie putt at #11 and made a poor second shot at #12 leads to bogie.
Needs to get it going at #13

OK, sitting 2-feet from pin on the par-3 and makes birdie. Back to Even. But need to get this to at least -2 by end of the round.

Phil in fairway on par-3 and hits a lousy 230? to end up in bunkers, then ends up some 21 feet from the hole for birdie putt. Ugh, just off today.

Up, down, up,, down... come on Phil!!
FWIW, that guy Dominic Bozzelli, I was 'walking scorer' for his group of college players when they had some college tournament (or was it as a high schooler at the Ping Invitational....couldn't have been that long ago, I think college) they held at the Oklahoma State Univ. Karsten Creek course. My wife and I did that for 15 years straight, and this was the first year we opted not to do that :-(.

Phil looks tired to me. Don't know if any pros that play five in a row. Final birdie be nice.

He needs Ryder points, let him play. I hate when he takes 3 weeks off and comes back so rusty.

PHIL is not flying home this week-or so I think-but he has homes in the desert and SD. So basically PHIL has either been at home or has been a very quick flight from home. He can handle the golf!!!

Saw Phil on the range with Tiger, and Phil looks really fit!

I was going to say that last week... didn't see his thickish belly. Made me feel I gotta slim down a bit too :-)

I agree with you bulls . He needs points . His schedule is WGC mexico then WGC match play Houston and Masters. I just wish he'd get this winless streak over with soon.
