Safeway 2017 2nd Round

Well the good news is that Phil is -6 and the leader is -10 and not many more that are close enough to raise the bar on the lead. A whole bunch of -7's have completed play, and there's some at -5 or so but are halfway done. So Phil can possibly be in the mix if he has a good weekend.

Phil is so invested in the Cups that he has to be suffering from a mental let down this week. As much as he wants the points for the Ryder Cup, I don't think he has the resiliency to play the week after. As far as needing a nap, I think it's likely a mental nap that he needs. He tries to run the team room, his own game, and everything in between. Likely a bit much. If he hadn't made so many errors on the course, his birdies would have had him with the leaders. I guess that's been his story for a long time, however.
