Northern Trust (Glen Oaks Club, Old Westbury, NY) - Day 1

Phil goes out early at 7:42am.

Hmm, Old Westbury..... I used to go to school at C.W. Post College about 3 miles from there, eons ago. Wow, the map shows there's like 20 country clubs within 25 miles of each other.

Let's go PHIL!!! Yup tons of courses in the area--New Yorkers have to play somewhere--Not many courses in the city

OK, Par-5 and Phil is 45-feet away on 2.... better birdie this hole!!

Good golly Phil, a double?... what was that, a flubbed chip or did it roll back down the false back of the green?  

Too many mistakes to ever get anywhere anymore. From T-3 to T-33 in 1 hole.

A second double bogey on the day, this time on hole 1 (Phil's 10th).

Depressing.

Is there a cut on this tourney?.... I know some don't have cuts, but I'm not sure if they all have no cuts through to the final.

I was out golfing today and missed most of PHIL's round--in a cart at 2 hours!!!

PHIL still played better then me and his ending birds give us some hope!!!

I think there's a cut.

I'm at tournament through tomorrow and both Wednesday and Thursday Phil has been working extremely hard on his putter after playing 18 holes. Hes been hitting fairways but putter has been aweful. He at least finished with 2 birdies and is optimistic about putter coming around.

Looks like a beautiful course. Wish i was into golf when i went to school a few miles from there, lol. Could imagine some nice public courses on Long Island

Yes, there is a cut... set at +1 right now.... so Phil will have to go to red numbers to stay in it.
