Follow that with 13-feet for birdie!  He hit 2 fairways in a row, must be a record :-)

Birdie!!  this is going to bolster his putting stats (shots gained putting?), where he's been coming in at 2nd.

… Phil hits 2 fairways and makes 2 birdies!!

And within 2 initial holes, he's T-1st ! Now that's how you help Jim Furyk make that Ryder Cup Captain's pick a no brainer and silence critics (even me :-) ).

I thought for sure the pbp was messed up when it kept insisting Phil was playing hole 9...wierd

Hard to argue with -4---yes it could have been lower
