Memorial Round One 2017

and PHIL is out early this morning. This is one event that has eluded PHIL and a win this year would be special.

15th hole par 5 bunch of camera clicks at top of Phils backswing. Bones and Phil not happy! !! Misses fairway on a short par 5. Terrible this stuff still happens

They just said Phil is using the putter he used at last year's British Open.

Phil, it's the driving, it always has been. Drive better and you will be rewarded.

Even par at the turn. Phil can't sink a putt today. Driver been decent. He did miss a fairway with an iron today

Announcers just said is Phil miss judging approach shots a lot today or Bones giving him wrong yardage. Again on 1st hole misses green. Phil looking perplexed.

A ton of missed putts leads to an even par 36 on back nine this morning.

1 Birdie in 14 holes is not going to do it.

Made bogie from 4 feet, ugghhh.

Just can't seem to make putts

so many 10-15 footers missed

and every now and then one of those 4 footers, too

just checked other scores and some horrific scores today by notable players

Phil somehow 1 under with 1 to play. He has made one 11 ft par save otherwise made nothing on the greens.

Hopefully he can put some good rounds together!

Good finish . Putter needs to heat up in the 15 to 20 ft. Range to contend on these fast greens

I remember at the last tournament, the Sirius PGA-Tour announcer said Phil had 10 opportunities for birdie within 10 feet (prior to 4th round) and didn't convert on a single one of them. Sirius PGA-Tour guy said today that Phil was probably hitting on only 2/3 or 3/4 of cylinders, sloppy around the greens, but a bit better with his driver. But yea, you have to make 10-12 footers if you want to make headway here.

Three birds turned this around to -2----missed a ton of putts but tree to green was great
