Barclays 1st round 2016

hopeful for a quick start for PHIL this morning.

Hmmm.... missed a 6 foot putt for par on 1st hole (#10) to make bogie, +1.

Got it back on 11. 10 and 12 are two of the toughest holes one the course, both par 4s over 500 yards. Back side start is tough this week.

OK, makes a 6-foot putt for birdie on 2nd hole to get back to Even.

Wayward approach shot, Bogie...now back to +1, ugh.

so so start but steady enough needs to score on front 9

hoped for better when Phil was hitting two from the fairway, 200 yards out

Couple of birds---some missed birdie chances steady round

not many putts are falling.

-1 is pretty decent but as always could have been better.

Overall happy enough with this round.

Hi gang I'm at Barclays through Friday. Phil had a great pro am Wednesday. Birdied every par 5. Today driver and putter not great. This course is a brute. Especially for the fans to walk. The toughest I've ever been at. PHIL should have been -3 today.

Yup Bethpage Black is tough to walk even if you are right down the middle of the fairways like PHIL is.

Well, T-21, there must have been fallout because he was around 35ish near/before his finish and they still had the 2nd wave to go out, so there must have been a few that dropped.

Wednesday Phil said he had a great vacation with family during 3 weeks off. Amanda is a senior and looking at colleges.he is going home for a few days after Barclay's. He thanked us gor coming out to see him .asked how far we traveled to get there. We got hugs 2 day's in a row. G ot lucky and caught him after his birdie on his 2nd hole today he hugged us,and asked for good luck.. Phil made a spectacular par on the 16th crowd went nuts. I happened to be standing in a good spot after the chip and I said awesome Phil and got a OMG look like I got outta that one!!! The crowds are so pro Phil it's a blast to be here
