US Open 2016 2nd Day

and this will likely be PHIL's 1st round and part of his second round. Can we say confusion has rained in Oakmont or Soakmont? More over night rains and play has resumed but no fans have yet been let in. The parking lots are flooded at certain points. Not sure if all of the bunkers will be fixed. The USGA needs to monitor pace of play this morning. Today will be the day IMO for best scoring of the week and PHIL will likely play +30 holes today. So let's go PHIL--I hope PHIL is well rested.

I will be out and about this morning so I might be back for 5 hours. long day for PHIL but can't say he has not had enough time to rest. PHIL starts on the back nine today so stayed.

Not sure what they are waiting for to let the 2nd wave out....the first wave have only a few holes left, they can start the 2nd wave on both sides.

Their plan last night was to restart at 7:30 and second wave out at 8. Not sure if it has to do with resetting the pins or why they are doing it. Maybe a bit more course maintenance. Bubba just said the winning score will be over par.

Basically everyone finished 10 holes or more on Thursday so the second wave of golfers were more or less ready to go at 7:30 with the same pin spots. Bunkers apparently are okay this morning after an all night work. As folks finish up in about 5 hours the second pins will be set. Today will be the day to score but the premium will be on fairways and greens hit.

Phil bogies 10 and both Stenson and Rose Par it...not the start he wanted....hoping he can give he can hang in there and get to the weekend as things are going to get much more difficult and he can move up by playing solid golf.

Did phil make a 27ft par save on par 5. Fox coverage isn't great. They were talking about a bunker shot phil had and never showed it. I rewound tv because I thought I missed it.

His iron game is beyond awful today

The shots on 5 and then on 6 were two of the worst ever

not seeing anything good from Phil this week. Not liking his ball striking

PHIL has been super off the tee (10/12 fairways) but his second shots have been weak.
