Houston 2nd round 2016

and PHIL had a fairly leisurely 69 on Thursday. He had three water balls that cost him at least 3 strokes. One long par putt saved him a stroke but other then that a nice round. PHIL will be out this afternoon and so will I. I don't expect to be back til Sunday afternoon. I am hopeful for a good week for PHIL

OK, Phil has late start today, hope the weather is good. My son got into Houston around 3am and hopefully he sleeps late so he follows Phil/Sergio, will post any photos he sends, although he personally knows Kyle Stanley and Rhein Gibson, so he may follow them as well.

His has numerous 6-8 young 'pro' friends are playing in the Adams Tour event about 30 miles south of Houston and a number made the cut but a few didn't. His roommate had the lead on the first day but didn't fare so well the 2nd day. But Chris Worrell, who played against my son often during his junior tour days and went to University of Tulsa, is doing well at -8 (unfortunately, Univ. Tulsa just announced this week doing away with the golf program due to budget cuts....hopefully they can find some money under the mattress and turn that decision around).

Radar shows they had a good rain front that moved through the area early morning (must have just cleared Houston around 6am), so I suppose conditions will be soft and easy, lest the wind blows.

My son just texted....they work their way up to Rickie Fowler, and they blow the horn for lightning....never got to see him take a shot.

Play has resumed hopefully they will have a smooth rest of the day to watch golf. Been in that situation a few times weather delays and no where to go are the worst.

After my son sends me a photo of him and Roger Maltbie with his arm around him, he said "Phil almost hit us!!...his ball is under a trashcan!"

Phil 0 for 2 already in fairways. too bad your son didn't get hit ( softly and injury free of course) with Phils ball. It be a cool story LOL

Horrible double after a messing up a routine up and in.

Phil might have another weekend off to practice at Augusta.

And that water ball was from 155 yrds, what the heck? Phil, you better be sharper than this next week.

What kills me is Sergio and Taylor went in water and Phil Mr. Macho also goes flag hunting and goes in water .

Gotta say Phil short game looks Augusta ready:)

71 isn't bad in tough conditions. Finally made a putt on 17 after not making much all day. Not in bad shape heading to the weekend.

Just saw Phils interview and said he feels good about the weekend. Said he just made a couple mistakes that cost him a FEW strokes and has to stop that.
