I know but he really had a low one in his grasp. should have birdied the par 5 then water ball bogey and before that had 11 ft birdie miss. He wants confidence and that mental sharpness he always talks about. Pressure is going to be huge next week. Phil knows time is really not on his side.

another bogey. I really was expecting Phil to have the morning wave lead the way the first 9 holes started.

2-3-4 was the difference in Phil's round today. He didn't play those holes well.

PHIL at -4 was jut motivating over the hill but his eagle putt at #3 likely deflated him.

weak iron shots at the two par threes led to bogies.

PHIL had a career round going until #4.

68 is a good score for PHIL

he could have been low and low today.

He hit a ton of quality shots. The par threes require some pinpoint irons at Southwind and he missed his shots.

Yes back nine play has been rocky at times. IMO its about as much as momentum as the number of holes there were played. Missed birdie putts at 6 and 7 plus the eagle putt that blew by were painful.

That is what's so frustrating . Looks spot on for 9 holes then gives it back. If he is in contention for tha USOpen im going to be a nervous wreck but loving it
