That Rose pairing is a joke, but on the brighter side, it should be a comfortable pairing for Phil as it's one he's often had! I have been looking at the new picture of Phil by his name and he's looking a big geezerish. Not as flattering as most pictures of him are, as I think he's really handsome.

yup not par save at #7 --nearly could have had another at #8

Out of position at 9 and needs short game to save par

What you don't see with shotlink are on the trees at #1--#7 #9 can inhibit his shots.

PHIL was just off the fairways at those holes but you can't shot for the pins from he was at.

Funny about Rose and Stenson. I kid about it but it is like the only partners for PHIL at various majors.

Great round for PHIL
. Only thing that worries me is that he missed fairways with a 3 wood . He said he will be hitting a lot of 3 woods next week to keep it in play. He's gotta work on that..

They said that this is one of the 4th or 5th hardest courses on tour. He is playing really well! Hope he can keep it up for tomorrow. A win here would be great regardless of what happens next week. Should be in his comfort zone tomorrow with DJ.

2 of his majors he won the week before so I'm not worried of peaking too soon.

Bummer, but maybe it's fine. Better that he's not trying to outhit and beat DJ He needs to concentrate. The heat is oppressive there. Hope that we can get Ralph's take on it all, but I don't blame him if he doesn't go out in this weather. I couldn't take it.

PHIL has really putted well.

Yes yes Southwind is a tough course.
Yes its a par 70 so leaders are not at -13. The par threes are not easy. PHil is -1 on the par threes. Hoge is an amazing -5 on par threes!!!

The par fives are not that easy and frankly there is no short par four-driveable so its a mean 70.

PHIL has putted well. hope ful for the weekend

Back from Washington DC, was listening to the Sirius PGATour replay on drive back from airport last night, they kept saying "the hole must seem as large as a bathtub for Phil, he's seemingly stroking everything into the hole and those that aren't are burning the edges", lol, loved to hear that.

PHIL made some putts on Friday--made putts on Thursday as well.

The greens at Southwind run smooth and the greens are not super fast or curvy.

I was busy checking in at the Washington DC (Reagan) airport and get a text from my wife "atta boy, go Phil!", so I quickly checked the scores and see him at -5 and T-2 at that time....I smiled and airport misery was lessened.
