I thought Phil drove it beautifully except for 11. He hit lasers into 2 and 8 to reach in two. Irons were sharp for the most part. It’s all in his head with the short game and putting. Just wants it too badly. I disagree with you guys saying he should quit. He made 34 birdies and an eagle at the Players and Honda. Still driving it 310+. He’s sitting on some low rounds if he can get his head on straight.

5 of Phil’s 6 bogies were from the fairway or just a couple paces off the fairway. 2 brutally ugly 3 putts. 0-2 on sand saves that should have been routine. Missed several good looks at birdie. It’s all about the putter. Turned a 70 into 75.

Phil has the talent. His issues are all mental. His decisions after a bad hole bring the swashbuckling Phil back and it never ends well . He wants it too badly and at his age I don't know how he can combat it because it is causing the blow up holes he tends to have.
