Win or lose, I am so happy that he battled back and fought for this thing. Could have easily went in the opposite direction, but he kept the pressure on these guys.

I agree thank goodness he bounced back. He has been finishing strong all week. Whatever happens this is a successful week

Oh well, ran out of hex's. Liked the way it ended better than if Phil didn't make anything and was several behind all the way in.

Yeah Phil's eagle putt on 16 and birdies on 17/18 were oh so close. At least this guy gets a few years exemption now.

from PGAtour.com "Mickelson has now failed to convert six of his last seven 54-hole leads. This was the second consecutive time he lost a two-shot lead entering the final round. The other came at the 2016 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am."

He just makes everyone too comfortable that he is partnered with. Plus I feel he plays the tougher courses better. A course like this there was always going to be people coming from behind shooting 6 and 7 under par. If he has a 2 shot lead on a tougher course, it would prevent alot of guys from going low to catch him.

PHIL was at the center of the Golf world this week--that is what we want

A win would have been nice but it adds to history

I just have to say that Adam Long's shot from the fairway (or rather, rough) on 18 was one of the luckiest of the tournament.  If you saw that on TV, you'd have thought, like I did, OK, "he's out of this tournament, just have to worry about Hadwin".  He had his feet above and downhill to the ball, with the ball looking like it was nestled in the rough.  I thought, golly, he's going to have to gouge it out of there lest he stick his club fat into the hillside, maybe slice-lie or hooded hook.... and then zip, close to the hole, ugh.

It was one of those things that was meant to happen, I guess. Phil just missing and Long lucking out. To win, you need help from the other guys. Hadwin did his part, but Long didn't, sorrowfully for Phil. Love the way Phil's hanging tough and I'm glad he isn't playing this week! It's all about Tiger, now.

The weird thing is that Sunday tee to green Phil was 2nd. Putting on Sunday he was 2nd to last. He had so many opportunities on the greens. Had he just putted average on Sunday he'd have won. Hopefully his scheduling will keep him sharp most of the year. I guess it wasn't meant to be. Going to be a stronger field next time he plays but today anyone can come out if the woodwork and win.

So boring this week with Justin Rose leading. Nobody is even challenging him. Why can't that happen when Phil is leading? Glad Phil didn't play this week at Torrey. I watched figure skating !

Thought Rahm an Scott would put up a nice challenge but not to be. Rahm had 1 birdie all day. I hope he didn't save them all for next week.
