Local kid (probably mid-20's by now) ... Will Kropp is leading the LatinoAmerica qualifying tournament, -12 in 2nd round.  I remember him playing against my son at bunch of high school and junior tourney events.

Did Phil ever open up a year in the last 2-3 yrs with a -6 or better in the first round....don't think so?

A chip in and fairway hole out and short bird putt on a par 5.. Not convinced his putting has improved yet.

You can hit every fairway and Green if you can't putt you won't win. I'D BE HAPPY WITH A TOP 10 THIS WEEK.

Since this is his first competitive round in forever, I think he's doing fine. Also, it's impossible to compare when there are 3 courses in rotation. JMO

Never mind.... Old Phil is back :-( , build a lead and toss it away on the way in.

68 is Phil's best score to open a season in four years, but disappointing considering the front nine. Not a great round on a easy course. At least he didn't dig a huge hole.

At -4 only 10 guys at LQ(out of 50) did better then PHIL. Nice solid round as he faltered at the end. That was a very decent start that could have been amazing.
