Re: Single Matches President Cup
Why are they not showing Phil?... they show 5 sec worth in the last half hour? He's 5-up and not showing him? they barely showed the brief hole out he got in the singles just now and then off to spend time on Holmes hitting it in the water, or DJ out of position again?

Jason Day said he wanted to go 5-0-0 and he isn't going to make 1 point.I Like Jason BUT these young guys gotta be brought back to earth!!!

Re: Single Matches President Cup
Spieth had a hot round yesterday but even tho his record doesn't show it , he was not very helpful out there in previous matches. He made a putt to win the first match but hit such a pitiful approach it was little redemption IMO.He has really notbplayed like #1to me. Phil was great this week. Loved the pairing with Zach. That was a genius pairing IMO. Liked Phil with a calmer guy

Coming down to the 1/2 point being impt. from Phils penalty day. And the incorrect ruling as well.

Re: Single Matches President Cup
Phil may have saved the Pres. Cup. Playing the wrong ball and the subsequent penalties and incorrect ruling made it interesting. Without it the final outcome would have been 16/14 and the final hole drama would not have happened. As Bulls statef earlier, it all happens as it should or has to for it to turn out this way. It's 3:10 am so this likely doesn't make sense.

Re: Single Matches President Cup
Yes, I went to sleep before the finish and got up at 4:30 and ran to my iPhone to look up who won, lol. There's a video clip of highlights and wow, Bubba missing a 3 foot putt that halved at the 18th hole, and Danny Lee missing the same for a loss, wow, amazing stuff.
Glad to see that Phil was about the best record (or tied?) on the American side, that he played as good as he did to validate his pick. How come he couldn't play like this during the year, he was great given a few errant shots.

Re: Single Matches President Cup
Phil played with passion and had another chip in. Maybe you saw it. It's going to be repeated today on NBC. The young guns, as Joan said, really didn't come through. Jordon, Justin, and Rickie all lost their matches. Bubba missed the same put that the guy who lost to Kirk missed, so maybe it was a tricky read, but he's never won in singles either, just like Justin. Day didn't show up all week. The two old guys--Phil and Zach showed them the way. Jimmy Walker didn't play too well either. Glad that Bill was able to play so well on the final holes. He really hit some great shots.

Yep, Zach and Phil really shined well, both in doubles and singles play....good for them. Like the interviewer said to both of them, you both hold a green jacket and claret jug, and then I thought, wow, that's right!! If Phil should somehow miraculously make the Ryder Cup (Phil currently 5th, but will lose points this year), I think he and Zach will surface again.

I hope Phil will practice regularly during the off-season. This past week should show he still has a little left.

Yup I will be watching as much as I can of it.
Oh my goodness is the end of PHIL's 2015 season?
Not sure if he goes overseas this year.

He says he's practicing for the next 3 months to have a great season next year. This is it for him.

Re: Single Matches President Cup
RYDER cup points don't start until January so the falls series won't put Phil behind the 8 ball if some nobody gets hot for a couple weeks. Of course thrilled for Phil validating his pick but I really think more importantly it helped his confidence under pressure...all eyes on his performance. After 2 winless yeas this will spur him on to win and make ryder cup.He relishes being the old guy who still has game!!!

Re: Single Matches President Cup
Was it just me or did they show so little of Phil? Except for the drama on Phil's 1st hole, the umbrella and the buried lie in bunker, could have put all his other showings for less than 30 sec total....a quick shot of him hitting to the green where his ball rests on the rock and another quick shot of him holing out from a bunker and that's pretty much it. But they showed others over...and over....and over.

Re: Single Matches President Cup
I didn't see lots of his regular shots but they kept repeating his super shots over and over. I never get to see enough of him. This was an outstanding week for Phil. Better than I could hope for. Did you read that Tiger called Davis and asked to be an asst. Captain for the next Ryder Cup. Preparing for his captaincy.
