PGA championship Round TWO 2019
PHIL will be out in a bit. Solid round on Thursday that could have been a bit more solid. He missed some fairways--especially on the par fives--missed a few critical putts but overall you can't complain too much.
Needs to be patient and under par today!!!

I saw a lot of great putts yesterday, many for par saves!! Nice putting Phil!! Better than average driving too!! Let's do it again, and better!! Tired of Koepka winning these things.

ugh, put that in a bad position....deep greenside rough and short sided. How to get that out without sending it well past the flag.

The course looks exactly like it looks in that free computer game, World Golf Tour. And I seem to get caught in some of the same places that catches these tour players, lol.

Wow, Jason Day putted from the other side of the golf course and went well past the pin, well past even Phil's ball that was short out of the grass. Maybe Phil gets a 'teach' on Jason's putt.

Geesh, did Phil's next get on the fairway? I didn't see it. Rory +5 and in the knee-deep rough.

Wow, great chip-in for birdie Phil!!...back to Even!. Almost starting to feel sorry for Rory, getting real ugly here... ugh, 2nd double in a row, +7.
Glad to see John Daly +7, good by golf-cart-JD. Should have done the honorable thing and withdrawn as injury. Maybe allow golf carts in Senior tour, but just distasteful on PGA Tour, imo.

Ugh, Phil gives it right back by going wildly left...gotta be a bogie or worse from there.
Not to be outdone, Jason follows Phil into the left side junk.

Scramling!! Really narrow fairway on #11 but still should have bombed it if he was going to hit a poor tee shot
Got some back on #12--patience is the key--putts will fall--find fairways and green
don't push it!!!

Gollyy, tries to wack it out from the left rough on 14 as if he's going to reach the green and ends up in the rough well short of the green.... why not a controlled shot to the fairway and hit to the green from the fairway.

This has been the most grueling tournament I've watched Phil compete in.
Someone was saying you dont need a lot of drivers at pebble.
I hope that's true.

+1 on a tough day for him--Some good scores today but tons of bad ones
His par three play this week has been disappointing +3 I note as well that he is only -1 on the two par fives.

Koepka is running away with the tournament so far. Seven stroke lead after round two. If he can stay healthy, he will be winning many more majors.

Re: PGA championship Round TWO 2019
Bottom line is, Phil can’t drive it in the fairway... only 4 fairways thru 15? And crooked left again and his provisional crooked right. As announcer said, the 2 shots are 80 yrds apart. Been saying for over 10 yrs he needed to fix his crooked driving. As years move forward, they make courses harder by narrowing the fairways and new talent have to be accurate under current conditions. He will never win another major, poosibly not another tournament.

Gee whiz, he finds his first ball, escapes from Alcatraz with a fanrastic shot to fairway and puts it to 4 feet for par.... and misses the short putt. Good golly man

If you read Phil's interview yesterday on asap sports he says he wont need many drivers at Pebble which he admitted was his weakness. This US OPEN likely his last chance. As far as another major Augusta is still in play IMO.

Re: PGA championship Round TWO 2019
It’s impressive Phil has remained relevant for as long as he has, but the days of sustained strong play are gone. I would be stunned (and thrilled) to see him win another major, but I don’t think it is going to happen, either. He hasn’t contended or even sniffed a top 10 at a major since the 2016 Open. Fixing his ‘crooked driving’ isn’t realistic at this stage in his career; he’s never been a straight or consistent off the tee, and that is certainly not going to change in his late-40s. More foul balls are to be expected considering his age and playing style. He’s still got game, so I wouldn’t say he’ll never win again, but he certainly looks more like a guy on the verge on falling off rather than ready to win a major.
