St Jude Classic 2nd round 2018

We are over in Oklahoma....had a nice downpour yesterday, dumped 2.5-3 inches of rain on us (about 30 miles away they had 5 inches!!), and that is good because going to be installing an in-ground sprinkler system in my son's yard (starting) tomorrow and moist ground digs well in clay soils :-) (otherwise it's like cement).  Renting a 'ditch digger' of course. Now, Phil, don't dig yourself a hole (or a ditch), leave that to me... please build up on what you started....would be nice to see you lead for a change and let them chase you :-).

DJ about to go to -8, guy is lucky this week.  Yesterday he holes out from the water and today he holes out from fairway on par-4 (eagle).  Phil needs to rub his magic rabbit foot.

DJ is 5-under on the day (- only missed 2 fairways and got 2 bogies from those misses ; 14x holes so far - 3x par3's = 11 drives - 2 fairway misses = 9 of 11 fairways hit. He's driving very well.

Ugh, his drive on 2 is way out left into no mans land.

Well, that does that...saves me the time wasted to watch....he's making a mess so he won't be a factor today.

Shot 3 - 60 yds to front center green side bunker, 29 ft 1 in. to hole
Shot 2 - 83 yds to right rough, 70 yds to hole
Shot 1 - 260 yds to unknown, 152 yds to hole

That tee shot to unknown was with an iron.
Starting out on typical roller coaster.

3 steps forward (birdies) and 2 steps back (bogie).

I'm glad the temperature is supposed to be in the 70s next week. I think this heat is getting to him

1. Not driving well (2 bad drives leading to bad approach shots)
2. Not chipping well (2nd chip that was way short of its mark leaving long par putt that was missed).

Several poor shots lead to bogies and of course he has had three great birds as well.

Needing focus here!!!!

Phil is playing horrible. Chips ARE ALL TERRIBLE Leaving Long Par saves. For 2 days they keep showing stats at how great he plays this course. What is going on????
