Phil needed a JB Holmes round today, 7-under thru 8 holes.

Phil's driving is horrendous the last 2 days....like night and day compared to Thurs/Fri.

After a drive 50 yards left on 11 Phil takes a five.

Easy holes ahead, -4 the rest of the way could snag a top 10.

He is swinging out of his shoes and zero accuracy which is costing him dearly.

Bad par on the easy 12th, giving up a shot to the field.

Birdie on 15, moves to -12.

If PBP is correct, Phil missed the 17th green by 70 yards left, which would do in any chance of a top 10.

Phil was T9 before 17th bogey. no top 10. don't know if -12 would have maintained top 10 but 17th has his number

Just an average round today. Too bad Phil couldn't go low. The course is right there for the taking and IMO he needs some momentum.

Of course Phil finds the water on 18, so this is going to be his worst performance the week before a major since 2012. Never would have guessed that after 36 holes.

Wow looks like he'll triple 18.

Bogey-double bogey finish, so Phil will end up outside the top 20.

Too many loose shots this weekend. Not a lot to build on over the past 36 holes. He's really struggled on the weekends the past three events he's been in decent position after the first two rounds.

Who knows what's in store for next week? Very slim odds of contending but you can't count him out. Can't expect anything. A bad performance is more likely than good.
