Early birdie, but in trouble in the native area now but makes great shot to the edge of the green. Next hole is a par-5. Birdie time!!

If he could putt "average" he'd be leading.

Sergio had like 150 feet of putts yesterday.... made some great long par saves.

Phil is performing better than some of the guys ahead of him in the president cup points. I don't think a pick is such a GIFT as some would think.

Birdie, to -4 and T-3rd.  If he stays within close contention, even without winning, it will make the case for President's cup.   Very good.

A positive about playing in President's Cup.... aren't these usually setup as 'easier' than say a tough PGA tourney venue? May bode better for Phil than some of the PGA tourney venues he's played.

I played today!!! An okay round but lots of potential!!!

PHIL had a very good round today!!! Not quite that 65 but 67 is great

PHIL missed a few putts but not as many as I did!!

See what i mean about see if there is mention about it later?, playing it to the max, mysterious condition treated and now miraculously better with more energy, focus presto, without a single word of what the condition or the treatment that solved it. Just enought hype to get Stricker to believe all the prior bad play is over, the new and improved Phil is back. Lol, he plays that so well. He could have said nothing and let the better play speak for itself, but what the heck, gain a few more medical sympathy brownie points while he's at it.
