Colonial 1st round 2017
and PHIL will be out in 4 in a row
Clearly he feels he not only needs the work but he can do it. No news on scouting Erin Hills so that will likely be next week?
Let's go PHIL

I like the 'Colonial' better than the Dean & DeLuca name.
They're talking on Golf Channel about "is Phil doing too much prior to the US Open"? Heck, I've been thinking he hasn't been playing much and he better start playing (he insists he wants to make the PResident's Cup on points).

Re: Colonial 1st round 2017
Golf is a funny game. Played 18 holes sunday, but didn't play my best, grumbled a lot on bad shots. Played 9 holes Monday after work and more of the same. Now wife and I played 9 holes last night and striped every fairway (probably would have vied for 'closest to mid-line' on at least 4 of 7 drives. Iron shots were long and crisp. I found myself looking at my irons after a shot, twirling them slowly, as if there was something magical in them. I mentioned to my wife, why are my shots going so well tonight? (we didn't even go to the driving range before hand), they are going further, crisper, 'like butter' type feeling, long irons were drawing left to right (I'm a lefty), drives were a bit further than I normally hit them (down to the bottom of the hill on the fairway as opposed to further back up on the plateau).....is it the thinner cool air? (she laughs, to which I say "no, I'm serious, something is different tonight"). Even the putter was 'spot on', making 2 par-saving putts from ~20 feet :-).
I guess it's just golf. Here today....gone tomorrow.

Phil needs to be able to make 7 footers for birdie... just missed, 2-putt par on the par-5 from 7 feet.

Just read on twitter Phil changed putters this week. Don't know if its true. I'm watching him online featured group and have no idea. He's 11th in SG putting. ..why change? ?
Bulls. 3 years I shot my lowest score ever 86 and first round of the year. Haven't sniffed it since. My sister always said don't waste your great shots on the driving range. Lol

I hear you....but when we got out and we don't start with the range, my first inclination on a bad shot is "we shoulda hit some balls first!", And women have it the toughest....I mean, I got 3 tee's I can choose to play from, perhaps 4 if I include the ladies' tees (perhaps as I get much older), but women only have 1....where do they hit from if they get older and hit shorter?

OK, you all can beat me with a wet noodle... I turned off looking after Phil's last bogie thinking hell, he'll likely finish Even or +1, and then I look and see his name not too far from the top of the list :-). Good recovery dude!!
