PHIL is likely guaranteed a spot for next week's event. Likely but he needs a top 5 or top 10 to get into top 30.

He dropped a double bogie on a par-3 but came back with 2 consecutive birdies and now on his 7th hole (hole #16) hit a green on one, a short par-4 (could have easily been wet), sitting 2-ft for birdie....to go -1, yeah!!

Yup--nice birdie run but homeward bound!

Phil may be able to hang on and just get into the BMW next week. Likely his only shot at getting a Ryder cup pick if he plays well. I know there are a lot of opinions on that but on a short 3 day event anyone can get hot and guys that were hot going into it can be stone cold .

Phil at the BMW, he'll likely miss the cut and please, no Ryder Cup pick. The play he showed at PGA was seemingly a lucky fluke, great for him but not consistent enough to be a serious Ryder Cup Captain's Pick.... maybe as an Assistant.

Just like I said, he's missing the cut because there isn't one... best way to miss one!!
