and PHIL had a very solid round on Thursday. One errant drive lead to a bogie--PHIL made 4 birdies and had chances for others.

Another solid round puts him in contention-making the cut here would be huge considering his history of play here.

With such nice weather, his shot making doesn't look sharp.

another bogey. misses 5 fter. He has too much stuff going on other than his golf game. I read he said he has his oldest daughter there with him to hang out with this weekend. Said how nice it would be before she goes to college . Playing the pro am and 45 minutes practice before your round doesn't seem to be enough. He isn't playing the Scottish open because its a new venue so he will just have practice before the British open. I guess that routine cant be any worse since hes been winless for 4 years

Consistency is the key for PHIL and this morning he is not there.

HE IS NOT 'HUNGRY ENOUGH' ANY MORE TO DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO WIN, imo (he says all the right things to keep sponsors on his revenue tab, but that's about it).

Also heard on Sirius PGATour that Phil's design team is doing one of the courses at the Greenbrier (I'm sure they have 2-4 courses), a course that opened in 1929, something about renovating 8 of them now and adding another 10 new ones? there was also comment about it only being open to play on 12 holes (or maybe since the flood it was only open for 12 holes, or something like that.  So he's probably spending time doing that.  So his play is likely to go downhill fast as he does more of these types of things, taking him away from golf game.
