1st round WGC Doral 2015

and we had a major snow storm/ice storm last night in Memphis. Not exactly thinking about Golf and Sunshine this morning.

I wish I was warm and at Doral.

PHIL really showed sparks of life last week. Let's go PHIL.

Hot and humid here in FL!  I am trying to decide in my own mind about the pairing.  Phil has been trying to bomb it out there, so I hope playing with Brooks doesn't become a driving contest for Phil, then again, it should keep his attention.
Hope you don't lose power, Ralph. Ice storms are bad, because the heat goes with the electricity!

Well, not the best start. Phil misses a 6-7 footer for birdie on the par 5 - seemed to play the hole pretty well, just missed the putt.

Just missed the putt on 1. He seems to be going just a bit right off the tee, but it's hard to tell how far off line he is. He sounded great in the interview I saw on Pgatour.com. Said he stayed in FL to prepare for this tournament rather than rushing to Augusta for a practice round. Needed to rest and play a practice round. Makes sense to me. Said he'd go to Augusta soon to play. And of course, his game is right there! Go Phil.

Crap looks like his drive did go OB, he's taking a drop.

OB has to be played again from the tee. Said his drive was to the tree outline, so maybe it's an unplayable lie.

Looks like disaster on 12...

If PBP is to be believed Phil hammered his third shot into the back bunker, so up and down would save a five.

Seven footer for par, but it does keep changing his shots around.

Who knows what is going on here? I expect double when it is all said and done.

Happy to be wrong! Just a par!

Phil ruined the par 5s (again) but at least didn't really mess them up!

Looks like he blasted his third shot into the front bunker, then got that up and in for a 5.

made a 7 foot putt, too - that's a positive

Some people have bogeyed #3 (12) and Phil posted the same as his playing partners who got in no trouble.

PHIL off to be a bit of struggle but at least Doral is not playing -28 like it did in the old days.

The blue monster became birdie town for a while.
