Doral 1st Round 2016

PHIL always starts fast in 2016!!!

Holes his 14 footer for bird on #10 but did miss another one at 11

Not real sharp to start the round

Phil's second shots, and a few shots around the green, have not been too good

He is not hitting many greens

Typical wild ride for PHIL--a little water 4 birds and two bogies---several nice putts so that part of the game is better

not counting the par five holes, Phil hit the green in just 3 of 7 holes on his first nine.

Phil got the bird at 6, played a great hole at 7 but missed the 15 footer for bird (and made par) and is in the fairway at the par five 8th.

Phil is dominating right now. Almost makes eagle and birds 17, then makes a nice shot at 18. -5 and a 23 foot putt to finish at -6

just misses and finishes at -5. That was a great second nine for Phil!

I had to run out and PHIL reels off 3 birds for a -5

Great round by Phil. He was out practicing with Andrew Getson 90 minutes before his tee time. I noticed Getson followed him the entire round and whenever he could I saw him standing right behind the tee box watching him. I went up to him and thanked him for getting Phil back in the game. He seemed geninunely touched that I thanked him.
We need 3 more great rounds.
