Have a good road trip. Thanks for the info on Phil's sponsor change. Very interesting. Hope he continues his good play. He loves the course and figuring out distances, etc. Maybe this can keep him interested and focused.

Well, got a laugh last night as wife and I watched some of the replay on the Golf Channel and the interview with Phil. Listening to Phil describe why he likes to play high altitudes and judge how the ball reacts....my wife turns to me and says "he sounds like you" (i.e., I'm a university research professor and often get scientific on explanations, or so I'm told :-)....and to cap it off, the guy says something about "Professor Mickelson" and my wife again nodded at me, lol. Was funny as hell.

This is turning into a birdie fest. Phil needs to do better on his final 9 holes. -1 through 9 isn't going to cut it today

Well, it can't be the same for him with Tim on the back. Hopefully, Bones will be back tomorrow!

The thing about Mexico is you can drink bottled water but even the best restaurants are using the water to clean veggies and prepare food.bulls9999 wrote:Haha...as a Food Microbiologist, I would be interested in what he ate.j58golf wrote:Bones got food poisoning and Brother Tim is following Phil in case Bones can't finish.

Well, it seems to always work that way for Phil, but he just has to stick with it. He's really playing well. Easy to get sick in Mexico. They're used to the cooking methods and relative lack of sanitation here and there, but it gets to us. Doesn't take much, even if you're careful. I think that some people have touchier stomachs and digestive tracts than others as well. I've been to Mexico many times and never gotten sick, but I am extremely careful. Very limited diet. LOL Hope Bones can work the bag tomorrow. Why are they going out in 3 somes? Is it a tv thing?

I would love for Phil to beat Rory....to make up for that PGA Championship and also, I can see him saying, "...not bad for being on the back nine of my career."

There was some dialogue on TGC about how many times Phil has come in 2nd when another golfer gets hot and has a career low round, etc. They said that he has so much talent that it'll eventually go his way. I was thinking of last week when Rickie won. He didn't play well, but was challenged by no one. Seems that never happens to Phil.

Agree totally. Phil never has the top guys playing poorly when he's on form
