Yup PHIL will be off in a bit!!

I checked Phils past results here and nothing great last few years except a 62 final round in 2014. He then proceeded to finish 2nd at the PGA the following week. Of course this is Phil 2.0 so who knows!!

On Sirius PGATour radio last week they said the new stats on 'Strokes Gained' shows that Driving has overtaken Putting for the most significant stat affecting scoring.

What the heck, from the fairway he goes 45-degrees offline?

After great drive phil makes a mess of a par 5. He has a bandage on his thumb and index finger of his left hand.
Phil should be 2 under with those 2 great drives. His swing coach is with him .saw Getson on putting green with him.

If putts would fall he would be -3 right now

If that's the case, then he deserves to come in dead last, sorry, but if you don't respect other players by at least practicing to maintain, then I have no respect or feel sorry for someone's poor play.

And there's only 60 players this week, fewest in a WGC event in a long time.

Either putted or chipped it some 15 feet short....bogie to +2.

What is so bittersweet is he's 2nd in scoring average and 3rd in putting. He should have won by now. I fear another winless season with stats that haven't been this good in years.

Phil is messing up this hole big time....either bogie or double.

Looks like a double (don't know, needs to make it from 5 feet for the double).

I thought when he had a 7ft birdie putt on the 1st it was going to be a good day. Bottom line is Phil at this stage of his life has too many things besides golf to think about.
This year has really been a tease with the few times he has had a shot to win .

Online announcers said Phil has been practicing really hard or fighting with hedgehogs when they saw,all the bandaids on his fingers.
Maybe he has been putting the time in. Historically for whatever reason he doesn't play well here

Phil from 110 yds or so is terrible today. Usually he spins them back to hole not today.

I was so bummed that I had to miss his round today. Guess I didn't miss much! Thanks for the input.

Phil sounded really disappointed once again says he was playing well coming into today.  I had to stop watching after Phil. Spieth was having a tough day but was making long par saves then finished with a bunch of birdies. I see that and think how the heck is Phil going to beat these young guys. Switched over to the news.
