Warm here in FL today Ralph but not sunny. I think it's cool there in SD right now, but hope it warms up for Phil as well. Can't help but think that the cold rain and two gloves were not good for Phil's arthritis last week. He got the worst of the draw, but it's too early to start making excuses for him.

And we are finally underway after the fog delay.

After a good drive, Phil hits a ho-hum wedge onto the green and two putts for par

Another good drive at 2, but an uninspiring wedge leaves Phil too far away to have a chance at birdie - two putt par

The wedges are disappointing thus far

Saves a bogey from six feet, falls to +2. Looks to be perfect scoring conditions.

Tiger showing some real fight to get back to even. You can tell he's not feeling well.

Clearly I spoke too soon, Tiger withdraws.

Back to back birdie putts from about 15 feet don't fall, still +2.

Three putt bogey on 7. Lots of guys going low right now, looks like Phil will have another weekend off and that would be a disastrous start to the season.

After solid pars on 11 and 12, a missed opportunity at the reachable par 5 13, just a par.

PHIL used to eat par 5s for breakfast. Not any more. One more left if he even finishes today.
