US Open 2015 2nd round

and I truly enjoyed PHIL being in the featured group on Thursday. I followed the round on my computer and saw nearly every shot. PHIL played some stunning golf but he let a 65 or 66 turn into a 69. Oh for a few more putts to fall.

Yet clearly he was just right there. It is likely to be tough this afternoon so another 69 will likely have him just right there. Here's PHIL interview

I will lay low until this afternoon. I am nervous as a cat until he plays again. I do not that USGA scoring has a ton of PHIL's shots saved from the 1st round. If you have not seen them watch them.

Spieth 2 under thru first 5 holes and now 4 under-just made 16 footer...his caddy caddied at Chambers Bay so he has some local knowledge....Phil needs to hole some putts today and avoid unforced errors.

Spieth holes another putt...23 footer and now 3 under thru 6 holes...man he is one guy I did not want to have to worry about if he is rolling the rock

IF Jordan sucks the excitement out of this major like he did the last one Im really going to be upset. LAST thing Phil needs to see is the lead 8 or 9 under.

Solo lead for Spieth after another birdie at 17...4 under thru 8 and 6 under overall...making every putt...helps his caddie knows the course so well

These greens really suck... splotches of poa annua grass, really?  I saw some of the close ups on short putts where the ball is wobbling all the way towards the holes and just kicks one way or the other.  I'm sorry, but putting should be a test of accuracy and you can only get that if you have true rolls, not wobbly balls as if they were rolling square balls.

Phil will need to shoot -3 or better today or get left well back....too hard to make up much ground on this course.

They said it stinks for the onsite fans viewing , greens stink, Tiger said 36 holes you have to prepare for given the tee box options. . Slow play problems. Gregg Norman says ground shakes when train goes by so be careful ball doesn't fall off tee.
I think I don't mind narrow fairways good greens and high rough.

Looks like Phil's 2nd shot is high up in the junk to the right of the green....doesn't look like a makeable up-and-down.

Since he already bogied on the leaderboard, I hope what I saw on video was the first hole and not the second, ugh.

Well, left that putt from off the green way short....(reachable par-4), so 20 feet for birdie?

Still in good shape. He needs to stay patient. A good percentage 8-10 footers will fall if he keeps giving himself chances.

Maybe he's hitting two many fairways? I have a theory that Phil gets bored when he's driving it well.

I'll say this much, his putting is beyond horrific. He's using the wrong putter for this grass surface. The blade is better for smooth, fast greens. Not so much slow, bumpy ones

This whole tournament set up stinks .Mike Davis or whoever was responsible picked a bad venue for a Major. PHILS putting isnt that bad. PLUS he has zero lucky breaks. I hope he makes the cut or it will be devastating fir him.
