PHIL hit a lot of quality shots on Friday. Yup as I noted last week he is in USA open mode. 66-66 this weekend could win this thing. Pin placements will be tougher and yes weekend pressure can get to people. PHIL basically has a free pass as he and everyone knows its about next week. So let's go PHIL.

Well, from 150 yrds, he hits it to only 63-feet, not even close to being on the green, now has 7+ ft for par.

He was in the fairway 150 yrds to pin and double. Hard to believe it. Doesn't seem to matter if he hits fairways or not.

Phil wanted to get in contention to feel the heat and this. How is he going to handle all the pressure next week. Of course if he doesn't play well he wont have to worry .

doesn't matter how he plays when he is missing 3 footers. He has missed quite a few shorties this week

another par . he cant putt. In his mind he really had to make that one to get back to even and he missed it. Pressure ??? or what?

Forget this week. His game actually doesn't look terrible, but his putter must heat up if he's going to have a shot next week.

Phil isn't doing the Jackie Burke putting routine for those short putts today. That's a mistake IMO

Not the start I expected as PHIL doubled from the fairway at #1 after a three putt from 7 feet

If he can birdie 18th and lead stays st 8 under.. is this wishful thinking

A 68 today would IMO put PHIL within a whisker of the lead at the end of the day.
