Well Phil said if it wasn't a major he would have skipped this event. His play is very rusty as he had not picked up a club until last Sunday. His retreat was in Hawaii and he took the family with him. Hopefully next week in Memphis he will show some form.

I slept through PHIL's round--Oh mercy and PHIL struggled today. I count 7 bogies and 2 birdies. I hope PHIL shines a bit in Memphis next week

Gee, I didn't see that.  If I had known, I wouldn't have bothered to show any interest in Phil.  Heck, if you're going to treat majors like that, then why should I (fan) show any interest in him to do well if he has so little respect for his game that he doesn't even pick up a club in a week's time?  Well, let's see, just water/coffee for 6 days while on vacation in Hawaii, lost 15 lbs, and without touching a club.... how dumb is that?... and Chamblee heckled Koepka for doing the same for a photo shoot? (i.e., "possibly wrecked his golf career by losing weight for the vanity of a photo shoot"....and he is much younger and capable of tolerating weight loss better than Phil).

This is worth reading to give us a better idea of what is going on with PHIL

I'm ready to cut Phil some slack. Adam Scott went over a there a full week early to learn the course and practice and is +7
Rory also on pace to play worse than Phil.
They were touted as great chances. They all need great rounds tomorrow.

I don't think Tiger's body will hold up for him to beat Jack's record, https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/27217029/tiger-gives-grim-view-physical-woes-78
