Phil finished 35th in 2010 at Houston and Won his 3rd Masters...his only win that year.So Im not giving up hope. He showed some great play this week as well as horrible.

I agree you can't completely rule him out, but that's not the best comparison. Phil is five years older and it's showing. He finished so strongly in 2009, his slow start to 2010 was at least preceded by some great golf. Whereas this year he's entering the Masters coming off a year and a half of playing poorly, not to mention he's struggled badly the past two years at The Masters.

PHIL is so unpredictable

I think he has shown real flashes of great play this week.

This was clearly IMO a shoulda coulda win week.

Clearly not putting 72 holes in a row of great play is worrisome.

Yet I am still somehow very hopeful about next week.

Maybe its Tiger being back!!!

Congrats to JB Holmes....coming off brain surgery a few years ago, and able to again compete at the highest levels. Even though I like that Jordan Speith, he's been doing too well too much lately, so good to see him take a back seat again.

Not much better from the golf world than Phil in the hunt on the weekend at Augusta. I hope you're right.

Phil said he was going to be aggressive today, and the results showed it! 18 was close to being great. It was fun for the first two round, and I love it when he gives me something to be excited about. Hoping for a good showing next week. Sometimes he can turn it on for the majors.

JB Holmes was last in driving accuracy this week and Phil led in birdies. Hows that for food for thought? ?

Had it not been for 17 and 18, Phil would have been right there!
