and PHIL will be out later. Needs a low score to get in it--thankful to see a great round on Saturday. I hope to see alot of him on TV this afternoon.

Phil needs another low one combined with a Jason Day stall. Whatever happens a great score from Phil should advance him in Ryder Cup points. 3 guys that trailed him missed the cut.

Im going to the Players for the first 2 rounds. It's going to be crazy. Luckily some holes have the mounding so you can see.

Seems like some new pre putting routine. Haven't watched much this year, so maybe it wasn't new, but looked alot different to me.

Day putting like Tiger in his prime and getting the breaks. If that doesn't hit the pin, that is easily off the back and maybe even water. I was really hoping Wise would win it if not Phil. However -12 means Phil would have had to play a bogey free round to tie Day if that is any consolation.

Great to see Phil get another top 5. Four top 5s so far in 2018 (and also a top 6). He's been outside the top 25 only three times in 2018. This has been a relatively consistent year for Phil.

Q. Great shot on 18. Can you talk about the lie?
PHIL MICKELSON: It was leaning against a rock. It was touching a rock, but somehow I was able to get way underneath the ball. It was kind of on such a severe lie, I was able to hit it vertically. So I hit it off the toe and the toe of my wedge is all banged up. Not the sole, but the far end of the toe. I semi played it into the rock to kick it to the right over the pin. So I went up vertically and used the side of the rock to kind of get it to go to the right.

Q. How does one practice the shot vertically off the side of a rock? How do you practice that?
PHIL MICKELSON: I don’t know, but I’ve done it. Whether it’s in play or practice or whatever, I mean, I’ve done it growing up as a kid. I don’t know, I’ve just done it a bunch.
