and expect some fast play from PHIL--he might stay around to congratulation a USA winner but do not expect him to linger over shots today

Lets do a 62 PHIL

Was just reported Phil did hurt his hand yesterday manager said he got a "stinger" never heard that term...but they don't think chronic damage. He has bandage on it.

Whatever happened has helped him today so far. A stinger is when there's a real jolt to the hand or wrist. I think there's tingling and some lack of feeling. I always thought it was like a slight sprain. Sometimes you can shake them out by moving the hand. That's my understanding of it.

I don't think Phil will play until the week before the Players. Thst gives him 3 weeks rest.

Just like Phil, when he's out of it, pressure is off, he plays his best stuff, -3 through 4 holes.

Then he will be 'rusty as a nail' and won't play well again. I hope he plays before then.

Train went off the track mid way thru the tournament, but finishing on this note is a real positive for him!

Great final round 67 with a short miss on the 11th.
At least he can feel better about his game. Leave on a positive note.

On a side note PHIL now has 18 eagles at the Masters and if my count is correct 387 birdies.

Wow, Jordan down 9 at the beginning of the day and he is now tied. I hope Rickie can win but if not, let's go Jordan.

I certainly wish Rickie would have won, but as much as I hate to say it, Patrick hung in there today and likely deserved to win.

Not sure where Phil now stands on Ryder cup standings....I'm sure several people leap-frogged over him, especially Reed.

Fowler and Reed jumped ahead of PHIL but likely they were set for the team

PHIL should moved ahead of Brooks K(who was off this week) but his languid play kept him a step behind the US open champ.

So it is 8th place for PHIL.

Captain Furyk more or less has his wish right now as the locks for the team are locked in as Thomas, Speith, Johnson, Watson, Reed, Fowler and PHIL are in per the numbers. Brooks Koepka is at 7th but has been injured and only has played twice in 2018. He will be surpassed and not picked due to his injury unless he gets well.

Kuch is an easy 8th pick if Koepka is out.

The last four spots are any body's guesses right now as Tiger-Zach Johnson or maybe some more young guns could earn spots.

The more I read about Patrick Reed, the more I dislike him more. https://nypost.com/2018/04/09/the-cheating-allegations-that-started-the-patrick-reed-backlash/

He's really getting hammered by the press! Nobody seems to like him. Interesting story about his family having a viewing party a short distance away, as Patrick hasn't spoken to his family since he got married. They think it's because they told him at 22 that he was too young to get married. His wife is 4 years older. Also reported that she(his wife Justine) had Patrick's family removed from the grounds of the US Open as she said they were a distraction. I think that couple has serious issues. Pretty sad when one's college teammates want to win the national title, but hope that he loses his match! Also reported that some of his peers on tour tell each other to lock things up when he enters the locker room. He had a little verbal spar with Phil when they played together last year.
