Shell Houston 2015 1st Round

I was concerned when he didn't play the pro am this week but he must have spent a ton of money on that practice facility at home so he could stay at home and practice.. Im guessing.

so far the pleasingly wide fairways of this course plus the tight lies and fast greens have really suited PHIL

We just need some more good shots.

the 10 to 20 ft range have to start going in. Spieth makes way too many of those

A lot of water in play on a couple holes to go. So stay smart PHIL and lets have another putt or two fall!!!

PHIL had a couple of longish but makeable putts neither fell at 4 and 5

Phil is due for a bogey free round.

Been out this morning and excited to see Phil playing well. I, too, hope that he can keep it going. I feel sorry for Dufner as well. Better that they figured it out before they had kids, but it has to be tough. Lots of selfies of her and beach shots, etc, and TGC (sometimes known as TMZ) played her up big time, so maybe she'll become a model. He seems like a nice guy. She is probably nice as well. That won't be much money, you're right Bulls.

JMO but Duffner's wife seemed to be posting too many of those bikini shots etc. Right up there with Dustin and Paulina

darn we got spoiled with so many birdies on the front 9. Ill take 1 more on this par 5 and be extremely happy with a -7 today

Not every putt falls as PHIL has missed a few coming in that 14 to 19 foot range. The difference between -6 and -8 are those putts

bogey on last just too much to ask to have a bogey free round. All in all good but he still needs to get sharper with the 10 to 15 ft range putts

-6 is certainly PHIL's best start for a year or so

The bogie at #9 hurts but its hard not to be happy with that 1st round

Very well played. I hope that he feels confident after the round. I agree about Dufner's wife, Joan. I was trying not to be catty, but it's too hard for me! LOL Hope that Phil can keep playing well and peak next week!

But at least Paulina stopped after getting married. Duffner's wife kinds of like those pics; interesting that she was the one that pulled the plug and filed. I presume after taxes and spending level, that money will run out fairly soon and then what?

Good round, very good. But still 3 back, geesh. I hope he does well all week leading to Augusta!!
