Valero 2015 3rd Round

Post by Admin on Sat Mar 28, 2015 8:51 am

and all in all not a bad round for PHIL. An even par 72 actually kept him in about the same spot-position wise. That double cost him as did several putts that just missed.

Out in threesomes at around 11 AM CT --more wind today so I suspect scores will be hard to find but a 68 for PHIL would likely put him near the top.

Let's go PHIL.

Sure seems like Phil is close. Just needs to get rid of that pesky wayward tee shot when things are going good. The windy conditions kind of give me pause for Phil's game but he does seem to be handling it much better in the past season or two.

I agree Ralph, a 68 would put him in a good spot for tomorrow. Would love to see him get a win with the Masters around the corner.

Phil coming apart at the fourth.

Fat third shot catches the rough, chunked his fourth shot and then two putts for a double. Ugly six.

Well double bogey on 4th hole. Tough start. Started with bad drive.

Bogey on five after a hammered drive on the short par 4 into the greenside bunker.

Disaster start. This really sucks, I was looking forward to seeing Phil contend this weekend. Not looking likely at the moment.

Can Phil handle being in contention anymore????. Played great first 2 days and now shooting himself out of it in 5 holes.

Two missed putts inside of ten feet plus another from 14 feet has crippled this round.

I know PHIL is frustrated.

I am frustrated.

Unfortunate lie in bunker cost him a birdie on another par 5.

Terrible 40 on the front nine, made nothing. His short game looks awful.

PHIL is not the only one at +4 but a couple at -2 or -3.

He had a real chance to make a huge move.

I am not hard on PHIL as conditions are lousy today. PHIL has had alot of good shots this week.

I am getting pumped for Augusta even as he struggles today

I saw Phil miss a short putt on the back nine that even the announcer thought he would birdie. Seems he can't get out of his own way at times.

What's that saying, "I'm not as good as I once was.....but I'm as good once (i.e., 1 round) as I ever was."

Unfortunately, you need 4 good rounds to win a tournament these days.

If shot tracker is correct, Phil just knocked it to three feet from 258 and made his first eagle of the season.

Phil hammers his drive on 15, but a horrible wedge looks to have found the bunker.

Massive hook with just a nine iron on 16, some 30 yards wide of the green, not sure if that sailed into the grandstand.
