Do you remember the drama with Hal Sutton when Phil practiced off site with his new Callaway driver, etc. LOL. I wonder how much his deal is worth? Lucrative, for sure, and he's been a real boon for Callaway

Glad for Phil as he said one less thing to worry about. So he can concentrate on his game

Can't believe they paired Phil against Day and Leishman. Don't know if anyone watched but Phil IMO has the toughest match. When going back and forth making the selections Spieth Reed got easiest. It so weird I was telling my hubby 2 days ago I just don't want Phil to play Day or Leishman and bam... he gets them. I'm all about Phil increasing his points he's 1 be hind Tiger for all time points.

Also, knowing Phil, he wanted the challenge. Last night they were talking about Scott's poor record and said that he'd been paired with many different guys and that you needed to find a partner and stick with it. Reminded me of Tiger having been given the opportunity to choose his partner and usually it was a hot player who ended up carrying him at times. Phil played with the downtrodden, the inexperienced, and those who needed uplifting for the most part. IMO, his record suffered from it, but not his reputation with fellow players, as he is very popular for the support he's shown and his enthusiasm for the team. After all is said and done, the latter is likely more important than one's record in these Cups--would like to see him break Tiger's record however. Ha ha.
